Advanced Preparation – One of the Keys to a Successful Hire

As we discuss the Best Hiring Process, one of the keys to its success is the Advanced Preparation. This was what was missing in our first disastrous hires in our orthodontic practice. But once we started doing this preparation, it turned into a streamlined process. So before you blindly hire someone just to get “extra help”, take a look at these Advanced Preparation steps.

This Advanced Preparation involved 5 steps, which are best done in this order:

  1. List the specific roles this person will need to fulfill.
  2. What qualities do these roles require?
  3. Look at the DISC Styles Chart. Which Style or Styles naturally have these qualities?
  4. Which of the DISC Styles needs to be the strongest?
  5. Chart a “Best Style Combination” on a DISC Graph for the job needed.

To help you, especially with #2 and #3, I’ve created a Free Fillable Workbook with these specifics clearly lined out for you.     Click Here for the Free Fillable Workbook

To help with all 5 steps, here is the “Best Hiring Process Worksheet” that I share in my workshops: Click Here for the free Best Hiring Process Worksheet

Next week, we will look at the best way to Design the Ad for your Best Hire.

QUESTION: What kind of Advanced Preparation do you prefer to do for hiring? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
