Whatever your age, job, array of responsibilities or health, there is one factor in your life that is a common thread with everyone else – TIME. An all-too-common remark that you hear nearly every day is, “I just don’t have enough TIME!”
As I’ve learned more about the DISC System, one of the most fascinating aspects is how each Style views and uses their Time. It is amazing how vastly different each Style’s approach to Time can be.
Let’s say you have a big project at work. Your boss says, “I need that report right away!” Depending on what DISC Style they are, that could mean:
- “I need it yesterday, and just keep to the bottom line and bare bones so I can make a quick decision!” (D-Style)
- “I need it sometime soon, but I want you to enjoy your job.” (I-Style)
- “But please work on it as you have time, don’t stress over it, and let me know how I can help.” (S-Style)
- “But please make sure it is detailed, thorough and has included all the facts.” (C-Style)
So for my next series of blogposts, I want to thoroughly look at these aspects of each DISC Style in regards to TIME:
- How each DISC Style views Time
- How each DISC Style uses their Time
- How each DISC Style could improve their Time Management
I believe that the few minutes it takes to read each blogpost will be well worth the understanding gained. It could be quite a benefit to you in how you can improve your approach to Time, as well as helping you to get a better grasp of how others view and use their Time.
QUESTION: Have you ever considered how someone’s DISC Style could influence their view and use of Time? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
