Yes, indeed – the S-Style is usually a person you can sit and talk with for hours – comfortable, friendly, patient, usually a great listener and seems to know the right questions to ask to draw out a good conversation.
In our orthodontic practice, we always tried to make sure our operatory was full of these S-Style folks. Even in the midst of hectic schedules, they could keep on an even keel, be patient and calm, and still carry on a pleasant conversation with the patients.
In a family, this is the member who strives to keep things pleasant, and keep the team functioning well as a group.
To sum up, people with a High S-Style prefer to communicate in a way that is:
- Friendly – warm, easy to talk with
- Casual – low-key and comfortable
- Sympathetic – empathy is one of their strong suits
- Harmonious – always seeking to be a team player
This week, let’s pay close attention to those people we are having conversations with who exhibit these qualities and tendencies.
QUESTION: Do you know if you have any High S-Style staff in your operatory now? Can you tell the difference their pleasant, friendly conversations make? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
