Hope your New Year is starting off well. As I mentioned last week, ours is most unusual. Even as I write this, my husband is undergoing major oral surgery that will require months of recovery. And I have to admit, I’m not a very good nurse… I have a terrible time changing bandages. But I do like to make charts – so I’m ready with the Dismissal Protocol requirements and am determined to do my best to help my husband stay on top of them all.
In the meantime, I’ve been thinking and praying about what to blog about this year. On my website, it says, “I publish a blogpost once a week on some aspect of the DISC System and its application in professional practices or its usefulness for individuals and families. My goal is to provide enough information to make a difference in your office and your life; to share what I have found to be successful so you can put your new-found learning into your personal and professional practice immediately.”
That is still my goal and delight. But there are so many options:
- How we used the DISC System to put our staff in their best roles in our office and the amazing results – minimal turnover, people excited to be at work, a fully functioning team
- Using the DISC System for hiring
- DISC and Communication
- DISC and Stress Management
- DISC and Time Management
- DISC and Self-Renewal
***Is there one of these options that you would especially appreciate input about? Or insights on how the DISC System affects it? As I do my nursing duties this week, I’m going to make some decisions on what to write on next.
As anyone who knows me well can attest – I love books and have hundreds of them. Most I have read, and can put my finger on what part to share with others. A book I return to over and over is Stormie O’Martian’s Just Enough Light For the Step I’m On. I’m pulling it off the shelf to reread it as I start 2026, because that is exactly where I am finding myself.
Another helpful book I just finished reading, and am now rereading is Dr. Henry Cloud’s Necessary Endings. It talks about the seasons of life and the parts of our work or our personal life that need to end in order to have our best life going forward. It has sparked lots of thought.
QUESTION: Do any of the above options interest you on what area of the DISC System to focus on next? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
