I’ve been sitting quietly by my dear Daddy’s bedside as he transitions from this life to the next. Singing to him, praying over him, sharing my thanks and love. It has been a good time to reflect on his 98 years and the amazing and delightful growing-up life he and Mom provided for me and my siblings, as well as for my children and grandchildren.
His years were full of family, fun, challenging experiences, wisdom gained, lots of jokes and laughing – all of which spilled over on us children, as well as his grandchildren and great-grands. We are all deeply saddened but also deeply grateful.
Perhaps it is good to have a quiet and thoughtful beginning to the New Year.
In the meantime, a most meaningful and blessed New Year to you. And I encourage you to express your love and appreciation to those around you.
QUESTION: In the midst of usual celebrations, do you appreciate a quiet moment to think and reflect? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
