How Each DISC Style Uses Time

Over the last few weeks, we’ve looked at how each DISC Style views Time and have considered a couple scenarios showing these differences. Just click here to review these blogposts.

Today, I want to put all the DISC Style’s use of Time in one place so they are easier to compare.

But first, let’s do a quick overview of the four different DISC Styles.

First, think of someone (maybe it’s you) who:

  • D – Has to TAKE CHARGE
  • I – Always ADDS FUN
  • S – Is so very PATIENT
  • C – Loves the DETAILS

To expand on these descriptions:

  • D-Style: Gets things done, is decisive and authoritative
  • I-Style: Is enthusiastic, outgoing, positive and persuasive
  • S-Style: Is steady, dependable, cooperative and patient
  • C-Style: Likes procedures, is systematic, precise and conscientious

Then it is to be expected that each Style uses Time Use very differently:

  • D-Style: Do It NOW!!
  • I-Style: Let’s do it together and have FUN!
  • S-Style: Let’s do the PLAN!
  • C-Style: Let’s do it RIGHT!

So you can imagine how varied their approaches would be if they were on the same Team given a task or goal. This is why I highly value understanding the DISC System.

Starting next week, we will look at how each DISC Style could improve their Time Management.

QUESTION: Can you see how your DISC Style’s use of Time would affect how you approach important tasks? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
