How Does the High S-Style Person View Time?

Last week, we focused on how the I-Style uniquely views Time. If you’d like to read that blogpost, just click here.

This week, we have the High S-Style. I can certainly identify with these details as the High S-Style is one of my two strongest. My two bottom-line mantras are: “Pray/Plan/Persevere” and “Plan the Work, then Work the Plan.” My family will tell you –  whenever a decision or a project is in the works, or a vacation is coming up, I always have a Plan under way, with accompanying charts and lists, all safely attached to my trusty Clipboard.

The High S-Style’s tendencies:

  • Dependable
  • Steady
  • Persistent
  • Extremely patient
  • Cooperative – a great Team Player
  • Focuses on people
  • Often has a slower “motor” – walks slower, talks slower, thinks slower

So for a High S-Style, Time is:

  • A long-term perspective
  • Important, but never as important as the people involved
  • One consideration in The Plan, which is usually the goal
  • Slow, but steady; the Tortoise wins the race!

Next week, we’ll look at how a High C-Style views time.
