How Does the High D-Style Person View Time?

As we look at the DISC Styles and each of their unique approaches to Time, I think it will be wiser to put less information in each blogpost so it is easier to digest each week.

For this week, let’s focus on the High D-Style person.

As a quick reminder, the High D-Style person tends to:

  • Strive to be in control
  • Focus on tasks more than on people
  • Have a “high speed motor”
  • Be decisive – sometimes without researching the facts
  • Get things done quickly
  • Be authoritative
  • Take charge in a situation

So for a High D-Style, Time is:

  • A precious commodity
  • Always in short supply
  • Running faster than it truly does
  • NOW!

My High D-Style husband has a recurring “bad dream” (his words) – he is late – to a class, to an appointment, to a meeting, etc. Even his subconscious is pressured by Time.

Next week, we’ll look at how a High I-Style views Time.

QUESTION: Did you see any of your tendencies of how you view Time in the above descriptions? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
