We recently finished a delightful week of Thanksgiving/Christmas celebrations with our family. We loved having everyone here. For me, there is nothing like “eyeball to eyeball” time, hugging and laughing in person. I soak it into my soul.
I especially enjoy this every other year tradition in our family – when we combine Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then I still have another whole month (or two) to enjoy Christmas concerts, decorations and festivities. That is a LOT of celebrating – as is fitting for the most important event in human history – as Jesus left His high station in Heaven and humbled Himself to be born as a baby on earth to bring light, truth and love to our dark world. Joy to the World indeed!!
This year, as I must be so very careful in how I use my “Long COVID Limited Energy” [Yes, I still have it after 15 months] I’ve had more time to ponder the truths of the Christmas Story…that the baby in the manger came to die on the cross…for me and for you. Jesus wants a personal relationship with us, to be both our Savior and our Lord.
This is the bedrock foundation in my life. My constant goal is for it to:
- Inform everything I do
- Influence my choices and decisions
- Inspire my efforts and service
This month, I hope you will “consider Jesus – who endured the cross” and gave everything out of His love for each of us.
QUESTION: What difference does Christmas make to you? It’s important to think about…
Wishing you each a Blessed Christmas and excellent year ahead in 2026.
