Today, we began a routine that will continue for probably the next 8 – 9 months – “Leaving Home to Go Home.” This includes hours of packing, loading, driving, unloading and unpacking, then waking up to the elusive first thought – “now where am I today?”
We are starting the process of building a new home in Kansas, then selling our Colorado home and moving when all is ready. I’m already repeating the mantra, “I am a Decision-Making Machine!”
To facilitate this process, each month we will spend some time in Colorado and some time in Kansas, driving the 560 miles back and forth. The good news is that there is a definite feeling of “leaving home to go home” about the process.
In the midst of all this travel and decision-making, I want to consistently write and publish my blogpost each week as I have done for 166 weeks now. There is a plan for the summer blogposts as well as the fall, so I’m looking forward to delving into that plan next week.
But for now, we have safely driven the 560 miles again to Kansas, only to be greeted by a thunderstorm and tornado watch. It is time to unload and unpack and be ready to run to the basement if necessary.
QUESTION: Have you ever had a major transition in your life. How did you handle the process? I’d love to hear your thoughts and observations. Please share in the comment section below.
